31 May 2016 – As of now, four new airlines are available in the Pyton Flight Portal:
- Hong Kong Express: Hong Kong’s first and only low-cost carrier. HK Express is founded in October 2013 and flies to several destinations in Asia (Japan, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Cambodia and Vietnam).
- Pobeda Airlines: Founded in December 2014, Pobeda Airlines is one of Russia’s youngest low-cost carriers. Currently, Pobeda Airlines (part of Aeroflot Group) flies to over 40 destinations within Russia.
- Cham Wings Airlines: This Middle Eastern airline, founded in 2007, flies under the slogan ‘Fly beyond the limits’. Cham Wings Airlines flies to destinations within the Gulf, the Middle East and Europe.
- SkyWork Airlines: With their slogan ‘Flights made in Switzerland’, SkyWork Airlines flies to several destinations within Europe. Amongst others, they offer flights to the capital cities of Europe and holiday islands such as Ibiza, Sardinia, Menorca and Corsica.
Hong Kong Express and Pobeda Airlines are both available via screen scraping, Cham Wings Airlines and SkyWork Airlines are both available via an API connection.
25 March 2016 – Following a request of our API partner Germanwings, we have now changed the name and code of this airline in the Pyton Flight Portal into ‘Eurowings‘ (EW). The Eurowings brand is a newly established, independent low-cost airline modelled on its successful partner Germanwings. The flights will be operated by Eurowings itself or by its partners, for example still operated by Germanwings, but in the Pyton Flight Portal the airline Germanwings is no longer available as an individual carrier. Lufthansa has set the goal to make Eurowings the third largest European lowcost airline brand, after Ryanair and Easyjet.
25 March 2016 – The Germania API is now connected to the Pyton Flight Portal. Before March 2015 we had a connection based on screen scraping, but now Germania is re-introduced as an API connection. Under its own brand and with their slogan “Closer than ever…“ Germania flies from airports all over Germany to many European cities, to popular holiday regions in the sun and to destinations in Southeast Europe and West Asia. The content offered includes, at this stage, the flights as operated by Germania Fluggesellschaft GmbH (headquartered in Berlin, with IATA code ST, www.flygermania.de). The content of its Swiss-based subsidiary Germania Flug AG (headquartered in Zurich, with IATA code GM, www.germania.ch) is not yet included in this new airline connection. Germania Flug AG, with a fleet of 3 aircrafts, might be connected separately in the future.
25 March 2016 – Malindo Air is now available in the Pyton Flight Portal. Established in 2013, Malindo Air is an up-and-coming airline based in Malaysia. Malindo is a joint venture between a Malaysian and Indonesian airline, the name Malindo is derived from the names of these countries: Malaysia and Indonesia. Their fleet of 737-900ER and ATR72-600 aircrafts flies to domestic and international destinations operated centrally from hubs in Kuala Lumpur and the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport). Their fleets’ average age is only 0.5 year. The connection is based on screen scraping.
